The Company

Our story began almost by chance with a pinch of initiative and resourcefulness.

In 1987 came a chance encounter with the owner of a silkscreen printing firm. He had a number of customers clamouring for embroidered finishing as an alternative to screenprinting and as he couldn’t offer this option himself, he suggested we should evaluate it. After careful assessment we bought our first embroidery machine and installed it in a space not much bigger than a garage. It was a family-run concern and it expanded rapidly.

Every 6 months we added a new machine and in just two years we had tripled our production and were working three shifts.

In the ’90s the important decision had to be made: whether to create our own internal design department or whether to continue farming out the work. The decision was to do everything in house and it was to prove the right choice then and now,
giving us greater flexibility, ensuring high quality and above all absolute reliability.

The technological development, which has never stopped in the last thirty years, has taken us from punched tape to floppy disks, then from digital files to lasercutting. Some things remain and are carefully safeguarded though, such as free hand drawing to achieve the immediacy of the idea and freshness of the design so that a mere idea can be transformed into a valid embroidery programme.

This then is the background to our company and the story of how we learnt the trade. This is the reason why we love our work. With a hint of the planning which goes into the finished product so it is clear why “embroidery” means so much more than the term implies.
